It is a pretty decent hotel in Victoria and in close proximity to the bus station. They deliver very good value against the money you pay. Free tea, coffee, biscuits, clean laundry, no bed bugs, easy access, cooperative staff, you cannot ask for more against £50-£60. Perfect place for a short stay.
The hotel itself is good: great location, clean room, and friendly staff. However, on the night before my departure, around 2 a.m., a stranger entered my room and asked when I was leaving. He appeared to be intoxicated. This incident seriously affected my sense of safety — it felt like anyone could enter a guest room without proper control. After that, I couldn’t sleep and did not feel safe. The hotel should urgently improve security and access control for guests.
It’s in a great location it’s cheap bedding was clean rooms clean it’s not the ritz but if you have a large family it’s affordable and it has toilets in the rooms kids happy and don’t cost the earth so great
I genuinely don’t understand why ivy house hotel receives as many negative reviews as it does, the hotel really offers what you pay for. Nothing more but also nothing less, for location the hotel is absolutely excellent and I personally had a room facing the street so the train wasn’t much of an issue. Nonetheless I brought some loop earplugs to block noise from the other rooms and street since the walls are certainly very thin, but again this can’t be really a complaint as there is a very easy fix. For the bedroom I can say that is does its job, the sheets are clean, the cushions are as well. The carpet looks dirty indeed but certainly an easy fix bc you can just walk on socks or slides so no real issue. The bathroom was also fine, it was small but there was no mold and the water was warm, again I would wear slides while showering but this really counts for any shared bathroom so not anything they are very bad at. The staff was very friendly as well. So overall I would recommend Ivy House hotel as at this price it feels fair to compare it to a hostel rather than a hotel and when doing so it outranks the hostel in about every aspect.
Room was small but clean, the bed was comfy, sheets were clean, we had 2 pillows each and there was a hot shower. Great value for money, would definitely stay again
This hotel is made from old(er) houses which have been remodeled. It is not the Hilton, but for the price it is great. The friendly staff cater breakfast (limited choices) and they can give you tips on how to save money while in London.
Fantastic rooms, cleaned to perfection upon arrival. Location is also excellent. Very unsure of some of these reviews as my experience is completely opposite. There to help anytime of day we have booked now twice at 3am ish after finishing nightshift so highly recommended to everyone especially lads who are working down here. Cheers
